Small Business Gift Guide: For The Creative

Small Business Gift Guide: For The Creative

Holiday season is here!!! That means you are likely over scheduled, over caffeinated, and out of ideas on what to get everyone on your list. I've got you!

I always say, "I love spending other people's money." It's partially a joke, but I also love helping people pick out the perfect piece for their home, outfit, or gift. I take my job very seriously so I've made sure you only get la crème de la crème. And the best part is, they are all from small businesses, so you can feel good about your purchase!

I believe purchases from small businesses make the biggest impact, but you don't have to take my word for it. Economists say for every $1 spent locally, approximately $.70 remains in the local economy vs the approximate $.30 when spent at a large chain. This provides jobs to people in the area, creates community, and let's face it, you get more bang for your buck!

I urge you to shop small this holiday season, and with a little help from my incredible maker friends, I present to you: the small business gift guide for the creative.

For your creative friend who is always looking for a way to get their hands dirty, try a new craft, or keep their current craft supplies organized!

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

1- This gorgeous DIY alphabet embroidery kit is the perfect project for a dreary winter day. They will love diving into a new craft and the end result makes for the most adorable wall art!

2- For your creative friend who is looking for a craft to get them through the winter blues, this Intro to Weaving Kit comes fully loaded with everything they need to learn how to weave on a lap loom. It includes an online course they can access at any time with step by step instructions. The only problem? They will become obsessed!

3- This DIY preserved moss art kit is perfect for the friend who loves a craft AND plants. They can customize their own wall art that does not require sunlight, watering, or other care, so it's safe for non-green thumbs as well!

4- For the fiber art obsessed friend, these handmade project bags are perfect for organizing their knitting, crocheting, or fiber art project! These are made for makers by a maker so the meticulous attention to detail is perfect for bringing projects along on a trip, your daily commute, or just to keep you organized at home. They are available in an array of gorgeous fabrics and sizes so you can personalize your pick!

5- They are probably also big on creating in the kitchen as well, so why not introduce some gorgeous art in the form of this tea towel? It will brighten up their kitchen while doing their holiday baking, but if you want double brownie points (pun intended), you can use this as sustainable gift wrap!

6- If you or your friend are in the Denver area, I highly recommend gifting them a creative workshop at Fleur! Fleur is an incredible space that hosts workshops led by Denver artists. There is something for everyone -- from watercolor to jewelry making, block printing, tea blending, and so much more. It's the perfect way to spend time creating, learning a new skill, and most importantly, staying off your phone!
